our machine shop, the wheel is inserted into our computer controlled
lathe. This piece of equipment is very sophisticated, as it will scan the
surface of the wheel, digitally recording the exact measurements of your
wheel. Since we repair 1,000's of wheels each month, we are bound to have
your wheels program on file, which adds to our ability to deliver a
quality product in less time.
Once your wheels
specifications have been stored in memory, the lathe has the ability to
remove several thousandths of an inch of material from the face of the
wheel eliminating any minor scratches and any excess material left from
the welding process.
