| First
the wheel is cleaned by various methods including sandblasting
or using phosphates. Powder coating is a dry finishing process, using
finely ground particles of pigment and resin which are electrostatically
charged to over 90,000 volts and sprayed onto the part to be coated. The
parts themselves are grounded so that the charged powder particles
projected at them adhere to the parts.
Once your wheel has been
properly coated, it is sent into our baking oven. The wheel is then
"baked" for at a temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once removed from the oven, your wheel is allowed to cool gradually on our
special cooling rack at room temperature.
