The Repair Process
Next, the wheel is taken to the Welding Department. During this process any broken areas, cracks, nicks, gouges or scrapes are repaired. Because of the extreme temperatures and pure grade aluminum used in the welding process, the repaired portion of the wheel is stronger, and just as safe if not safer, than the original casting of the wheel. Random wheels are selected and sent to a metallurgical laboratory to ensure the highest quality repair possible.
